What the first week of Structures Intensive actually feels like

From readiness checklist to the first Saturday lab: a candid look at pace, tooling, and how tutors give feedback on early spar work.

Week one of the Aircraft Structures Intensive is deliberately measured. Monday evening covers load paths with worked examples; Wednesday reviews your readiness checklist; Saturday is the first supervised marking of stock.

Pace

Expect homework sheets between evenings. Learners who skip them arrive at Saturday labs guessing fastener layouts—tutors will stop the cut rather than let a wrong pitch proceed.

Tooling

Loan kits cover measuring and marking tools. Bring closed footwear. Powered tools appear only after the safety brief and a tutor sign-off on your layout.

Feedback style

Comments are specific: edge distance, clamp pressure, surface finish. The first week feels strict because correcting habits early protects the exercise piece you will present at the closing review.
